Ambulance-bus broken down

The outbreak of Covid-19 in The Netherlands was initially almost only in the south of the country, Noord Brabant.
The hospitals prepared, but soon they couldn't cope with the amount of patients.

Plans were made to bring patients to other hospitals.
In order to do this as efficient as possible a citybus was transformed into a mobile IC for 6 patients, with enough room for emergency situations, equipment, including 20 cans of oxygen (for 3 hours).
And also place for nurses and a doctor.

Today another transport took place.
This time from Heerlen to Groningen, the North of the country.

During the transport the bus broke down.
First the decision was made to lift the patients to one person ambulances and then repair the bus.
So an IC ambulance arrived, and the helicopter,  but the final decision involved towing the bus to the university hospital in Nijmegen, where the patients could stay in the hospital until the bus was repaired.

But repair was not possible and it was decided to continu towing all the way to Groningen, after a good check up of the patients.
Leaving the patients in the bus was less of a burden to them .

Under careful guidance of the police they continued their travels.
