Hi, It's me!
Hi!
It's me.
Many of you who read this know me already, but for the other visitors I'll write down who I am.
I was born in The Netherlands.
My mom didn't want me. She never forgot to tell me that, and she acted accordingly.
My father was a kind person.
His family had a restance group during WW2. When it became too dangerous he escaped to England, where he joined the RAF, lying about his age, as so many did.
He and his mother, my gram, where the most important people in my childhood.
They kept me sane, grounded, and taught me a lot.
When I was a young adult I married a man, who later turned out to be autistic.
I was too happy someone liked me and planned to get everything out of life.
I came out of the childbaring part of life with lots of experiences of miscarriages, 2 babies who died, but also 6 children. 4 (all the boys) turned out to be autistic. one of the twingirls is chronically ill.
Even though I had a legal husband, I did everything myself. Only had some support when a new baby was born.
5.5 year ago death tried to get me, but it was during a heart echo, so he missed. (Assuming it isa 'he' LOL!)
I have
- DCM,
- a heart muscle disease,
- kidney insufficiency (thanks to a cardiologist and his stubbornness),
- an amino acid disease,
- diabetes,
- lungproblems at times,
- neuropathy and
- vitamin deficiencies, because diagnosing my heart disease took the GP such along time and waitinglists were so large, that I suffered almost complete multi organ failure.Oh, and I wear glasses, but that doesn't count towards Corona risk.
Some people love to hear professions and hobbies too. So here you go.
I'm a psychologist (clinical psychology), journalist and...don't laugh: ballet teacher.
As a psychologist I was also teacher of research methods and techniques at the University. At times I still teach medical students.
Right now I am a health educator, specialised in heart disease, psychological aspects of chronic disease and Corona.
My hobbies: crochet, miniature house, collecting and telling stories about women in WW2
Music: singing, and I play several instruments, including the bagpipes.
I volunteer for a heart organisation and am a very active member of a parachute group who jumps with WW2 parachutes. I'm too old to jump. Grrr....
